Hey Shindiggers!
Shindig! is moving to a new venue. The Piston, 937 Bloor Street West at Ossington on September 30th 2011. The theme for our first party in the new venue is "Motown Vs. Stax." A battle of the big city Northern Soul sound of Detroit Michigan's Motown records versus the stripped down Funky Southern Soul sounds of Memphis Tennessee's Stax label. This monthly party is also being held on a new night, the last Friday of every month, making this the second Shindig! party in September. We are asking YOU to come and judge for yourself who has the better sound, Motown or Stax and the winning record label's roster will be spun for the last half hour of the party.
