Rest in Peace Hubert Sumlin

Hey Shindigger's

It is with a heavy heart that we report to you that one of the greatest blues guitarists of all time died Sunday Dec. 4th 2011 of heart failure in a hospital in Wayne New Jersey. Hubert Sumlin was best known for his work with the late great Howlin' Wolf working first as his rhythm guitarist on Sun Records in 1953 then as lead guitarist on Chess records in 1955 until Wolf's passing in 1976. He continued to work as a lead guitarist with the Wolf Pack and many other blues bands right up until his passing. He was ranked number 43 on Rolling Stones list of the 100 greatest guitarists of all time and was a huge influence on guitar greats like Jimmy Hendrix, Jimmy Page, Robbie Robertson and Eric Clapton. Rest in peace Mr. Sumlin. We will be eternally grateful for all of amazing blues you gave us over the years.
